Chesney recognized for commitment to Illinois makers, economy

State Rep. Andrew Chesney was one of among a small group of legislators who were recently honored with the 2022 Champion of Small and Mid-Sized Manufacturers Award. Of 177 Illinois lawmakers only 44 received the award last week from the Schaumburg-based Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA). Based on a legislator’s voting record, the award recognizes legislative commitment to small and mid-sized manufacturers, the jobs they provide and the vital role they play in Illinois’ economy.

“These small and mid-sized manufacturing companies are often family-run and provide thousands of good-paying jobs for our neighbors, friends and family members,” explained Chesney. “Yet they are often forgotten in Springfield when policies hastily crafted to regulate big corporations have the unintended consequence of hurting small business and the many jobs they create. I’m proud to be a voice in the State Capitol for small and mid-sized manufacturers.”

This award recognizes Chesney’s ongoing support for Illinois job creators and workers, as well as his efforts to improve the overall economic climate so everyone can prosper.

“In today’s difficult business climate, these legislators have been steadfast in their support of small and mid-size manufacturers,” said Dennis LaCombe, TMA’s Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff. “They know manufacturing is the backbone of Illinois economy, and their votes in Springfield recognize that fact. We very much appreciate their efforts.”
