State Representative Andrew Chesney was on hand to welcome his colleague, Rep. Daniel Didech (D-Buffalo Grove), to Stephenson Service Company as part of Rep. Didech’s Adopt-a-Legislator farm tour last week.
The Illinois Farm Bureau’s Adopt-a-Legislator program pairs up city and suburban legislators with Illinois farmers from a different district as part of a collaborative two-way learning exercise to better acquaint legislators with farm issues and farmers with issues effecting suburban and urban districts.
“I am grateful to Rep. Didech for taking the time to come out to Jo Daviess County and get to know more about agriculture as a critical component of Illinois’ economy,” said Rep. Chesney. “This program benefits legislators and agriculture experts in educating both sides on issues they face. The hope is that these common-sense discussions help lead to better understanding and better legislative outcomes.”
